Christmas 2021 Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your support and prayer for our work which gives us a huge boost to continue serving the elderly and learn with them more and more of the love of Jesus.

This November we made a personal short visit to Northern Ireland to see the family after long three years! We enjoyed a beautiful family reunion, most days we saw Nziza our son, Ashten and family, their kids Jacob 7 and Amelia 6 years old. Vera our daughter flew from Newcastle upon Tyne to see us for two days, so we had a lovely early Christmas together as a family. Our youngest daughter Jo-Grace who works in Dubai is now with us in Kigali, so we praise the Lord that this Christmas we have been able to see all our family. The residents were happy to see us back, and are looking forward to celebrating another Christmas despite the aches and pains of old age. The eldest is 102 next month!

It is always thrilling to travel to Northern Ireland as it feels like going home, and we really have very good memories and good friends who make us feel at home.

We were so pleased to meet with the BPMR Management team who organised a brief business meeting and fellowship, with lunch and prayer time together. We thank our trustees for their time and work. In addition, we were able to visit the volunteers at the BPMR Charity shop in Downpatrick. They offered us a lovely cup tea and cake while enjoying a chat together. The shop looks very well indeed. We thank everyone who gives time and donations of items to keep the shop running.

Travelling was not hassle free, with the present COVID-19 restrictive measures. They proved challenging in many ways: fit to fly certificates, quarantine in hotels, and then there was this new Omicron variant as we were about to fly back to Rwanda! However, we were glad to receive our booster in Belfast before we flew back.

Bobbie Moore had given us these words of scripture and may they encourage you too: - “For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. Jeremiah 29:11

Yours in Christ,

Jerome and Mary

Please pray for good health for our residents.

Please pray for planning permission for future BPMR home.
