Dear Friends and Supports,
Greetings in Jesus' name, from BPMR family in Kigali.
We are writing to thank you all, because of your prayers, interest and support for this Charitable work, without your part in it we wouldn't be able to achieve this much.
The pillar of our work is to show compassion as Jesus' followers especially to the needy elderly. In meeting our daily work challenges, we know that with God nothing is impossible!
"His compassions fail not. They are new every morning." (Lamentations 3:22-23)
The story of BPMR's involvement here is vital to those we have taken in, as well as a few in our outreach extension. Today they have access to the basics, i.e. food, shelter and medical care. Our BPMR's family picture shows at the front row from left; Hadija, Graetan, and Stephanie. At the back; from left are Jerome, Mary, Esperance and Amelia (volunteer).
Socially, they have somewhere to belong and as a result, it has made a huge transformation in their lives in a visible way, and they can be seen and regarded in the community.
For those in our home, we share our lives and faith with them, for this takes away their fears and gives them faith and confidence in life and a new status with a family feel.
We stand together with them in their daily challenges of coping with frailty related to advanced age but at least we can protect them from the misery of poverty and loneliness due to their loss of immediate family.
The sadness of their loss may not go away entirely, but at least they know there is comfort of being there for them. Together with them, we do enjoy moments of happiness and laughter, never mind bodily pain, aches and senior moments!
As you might well know, we are involved in small scale farming activities, growing beans, maize, sorghum, bananas, fruits, pumpkins, cassava. Also chickens, rabbits and cattle. This is in order to make sure there is food sufficiency.
BPMR Proposed New Build
The parcel of land on this site was a generous donation from Kigali friends and we call this a miracle from the Lord during a hard testing time of finding the way froward. Their generosity is greatly appreciated. Many thanks to all those who have given financial support to this proposed project. Some have booked to buy a room in memory of a loved one and others have expressed interest.
2020 - Spring Visit
It hasn't been possible to visit this year, however, there is plan to come back 'home' to Northern Ireland next Spring. We hope by then that we will have obtained all documents in view of building requirements and planning permission from the city of Kigali.
International Visitors
We have been blessed to have visitors for another year, some have visited our home or arranged to meet up, Mirium Hull, Sally Lowry (Willowfield Belfast), June Butler (MU Ireland), Archdeacon Hugh (Elly Diocese), George Case and his adult son Gideon Case (Derby) and Tami Meroz (Israel).
Thank You
We have profound thanksgiving in our hearts for the BPMR Trustees and Board; a really dedicated team led by our director, The Revd Bobbie Moor. We thank all who serve to make our vision and mission possible. A Huge thank you to all the volunteers in the BPMR Charity Shop in Downpatrick (Market St) for their tireless efforts to run the shop. We thank all those who support the work by their prayers and donations and also expert help in matters of legal issues, Accounts and now the newly set up website.
May the Lord richly bless you all.
Yours Sincerely in Christ,
Jerome and Mary Munyangaju
